You Are Not Alone

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Matthew 5:4

Men and Abortion

Men have been overlooked in the need for healing after an abortion decision.

The regret of abortion haunts men who suffer in silence, confused by feelings and pain not allowed to surface. Making a decision to abort brings immediate relief following chaotic circumstances produced by an unplanned pregnancy. Later, feelings of emptiness and loss can emerge, as well as anger, rage, depression, and suicidal thoughts.

Other symptoms of abortion grief may include:

Chemical abuse (alcohol, drugs, etc.)
Workalcoholicism, Type A behavior
Guilt, shame, and or extreme anger
Unable to relax, panic attacks
Loneliness or numbness
Rejection and inordinate fears
A sense of powerlessness

There is hope and help. There is healing. Men who have participated in Abortion Recovery programs have received freedom from their experience with abortion. Whether men have encouraged or discouraged an abortion decision, they can find relief from uncomfortable and even painful emotions.
